Use a dry cloth and clean them as best as you can before setting them. They dont have to be pristine, but you dont want globs of junk on them either.

They are dirty from being walked all over while they find the perfect spot to lay the new eggs. I will have to decide fast Sunday will be a week from the first two that were laid.
